Terms of Use

Last updated:

These terms cover the Kite app, its downloads and this website, kiteclient.com. Kite is made by grxtor. By using Kite or this site, you agree to these terms.

The license comes first

Kite is free software under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, copy, change and share it under that license. Where these terms and the license differ about the software itself, the license wins.

Not an official Minecraft product

Kite is not an official Minecraft product. It is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.

To play the full game, you need a Microsoft account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition. Kite does not sell, unlock or share the game. Your use of Minecraft is governed by Mojang’s Minecraft End User License Agreement and Microsoft’s Services Agreement. Don’t use Kite to get around either of them.

Content from other people

Kite lets you download mods, modpacks, resource packs and shaders from Modrinth, CurseForge and other platforms. That content belongs to its authors, comes under their licenses, and is provided by those platforms under their own terms. We don’t review it and we’re not responsible for it.

The same goes for Kite plugins written by other people. A plugin runs with the same access as Kite itself, so only install plugins you trust.

The Apache License does not cover the Kite name or logo. You may say that your work is “based on Kite” or “works with Kite”. Don’t use the name or logo in a way that suggests your build, fork or service is the official Kite or is endorsed by us.

No warranty

Kite and this site are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, as the Apache License 2.0 sets out. Back up worlds you care about. As far as the law allows, grxtor is not liable for any loss or damage from using Kite or this site, including lost worlds, corrupted files or a banned account.

Changes

We may change these terms. When we do, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If you keep using Kite or this site after a change, the new terms apply.
